Today i read about how Harriet manners pretended to be sick with chicken pox so that she didn't have to go to this fashion thing but then nat her best friend came to her house and she didn't believe Harriet so she made Harriet go even if she was actually sick because eit was really important to nat (Harriet's best friend). then they were on the way there and toby threw up on them so they had to wear these funky football outfit things and they didn't like wearing them because they smelt of other peoples sweat

Today I read about how Harriet manners had been trying to pass the test but she didn't so now she as to go to this fashion thing I a weeks time but nat her best friend has been so excited because she wants to be a fashion designer when she is older.

today I read about how Harriet manners had been trying to finish this project so that she didn't have to go to this fashion show and she had been trying to pass this test since  like 5th grade I think and she was trying really hard but I still don't know if she passed yet

T1 Reading challenge post 1

Today I read a book called Geek Girl (From geek to chic...) by Holly Smale, I don't really know how the title fits in because I haven't finished reading the book. so far I like reading the book, I haven't got to a major theme yet, nothing really important has happened yet, the audience is the school she goes to, don't know because there are only 1 or 2 characters so far, I haven't learnt any new words yet.

No More Mining On Conservation Land

If they stop mining on conservation land the west coast

population will drop because people will have no

jobs and will have to find jobs somewhere else.

Only 16% of the west coast land in not docs

or guardianship land. This does not leave much

land left for mining. If they go ahead with

the no mining on doc land then the west coast

population will drop 30% because there are not enough jobs

for the miners to all go to yes they could become farmers but

some people don't own much and it does cost heaps to buy land

Bees are dying, can we live without them?

Reading a stuff article ‘Thousands of bees are dying in Murchison.
No-one knows why’ this week I thought to myself:
what is killing these animals and can we live without them?

Hundreds of thousands of bees are dying in Murchison near Nelson,
why is this happening and how can we stop it?
In theory, they think that wasp bait is killing the bees.
An increase in of wasp bait use could be to blame.  

Problem: Bees are dying and no one knows why.
How can we stop these creatures from dying?

In my opinion, I think that bees are very important.
They make honey, they pollinate fruit flowers so we can have
strawberries, raspberries, feijoas, kiwifruit and so much more.
Without bees, there will be a huge shortage of fruit.
That means that the fruit prices will go up and get more expensive
which means that people won't buy fruit because it is so expensive.
If we don’t have fruit then people won’t be very healthy.

We need a solution to this problem.
For a start, we should put more money into research and find
out what is killing bees, not just a theory of what they
think is killing them.Then we should make a plan on what we
can to do help this situation and stop it from getting worse

In conclusion, I think that we should be doing
more to help the bees from extinction.
Because I don't really think we can live without them because
not many people will be able to buy fruit because it will be so
expensive  

Cave Stream

When we got to cave stream I rushed to get changed. After that, I ate my bar and then we started to walk down to the cave. the adrenaline rushed through my body I was so excited. when I first put my feet in the water I couldn't feel it because of how thick my socks were after a bit I could and it was freezing. When we entered the cave it was so cold. On the first corner the ice cold water got deeper and deeper and deeper the more you went around the corner it was above my waist but after the corner, it shallowed out and the rest of it was mostly at my ankles some parts went up to my waist but not as high as the first corner. After a while, we got to a big ledge and all got up and turned our torches off and the teacher told us a true story about a family who were all in jeans and a T-shirt they must have been freezing because I was wearing so many layers. On the first semi-big waterfall Russel was helping most of us up but some people lost footing because the rocks were slippery. In the end, we had to climb up this big ladder thing and the adrenaline was pumping through my veins once I got up I had to slide through the last piece on my stomach because it was quite small. Now when I go to Christchurch I can say that I have been there.

Writing Sample

I strongly disagree that the referee is always right because we watched a video and it was of the soccer world cup in the 1900’s and the goalie came charging into one of the german on purpose I think and gave them a concussion and the ref said “goalie’s kick” when the german had to be stretchered off. Yes it was a hard decision but he chose the wrong one and another time the referee was standing straight on from the goal and the ball bounced and hit the pole at the top of the goal and bounced out but the referee called it a goal.

Some decisions the referee makes are good ones but some of the are not. My family are big rugby fans the slightest knock on or forward pass they have an opinion straight away and if the referee doesn't call it they will go crazy all the referees do is check the tmo when they don't think it was a try I think they should check everything and if the referee misses something they video proof.

Yes the referees can make bad decisions on some games and they can make some good decisions but after all they are the referee and you can't really argue with that especially if you are playing and you do have to respect the referee

In conclusion i think that the referee can’t always make good decisions, after all, they aren’t perfect and sometimes it is good that they aren’t always correct otherwise there wouldn’t be much game time now would there.

David Langes Debate On Going Nuclear Free

“And I am going to give it to you if you just hold breath for a moment I can smell the uranium on it as you lean in” those were David Lange words after the opposition said this  “I would like to know why you don’t pull out of the ansiese alliance” this moment got intense for some people and they started to clap. We have so many ways to generate power instead of using nuclear like Wind, Solar, Water and Wave we don't even need to go there let's move forward. In the recent APEC summit, there was a lot of pressure for NZ and Australia to become nuclear. We don't need this

Why shouldn't the road from haast to Milford sounds be there

I don't think the road should be put there because it is going to cost the government over 3 million dollars just for the road what about all the signs and plus how long will it take considering they started the new Arthurs pass road like a year ago and they still haven’t finished they are still working on it. Yes Fiordland national park is amazing for tourist and it does take forever to get there but they will have to cut down all the trees to make it and it will probably ruin all Fiordland's scenic area’s and plus when it snow the road will have to be closed because some of it will be near the mountains that snow on them so most of the time it will be closed because it snows a lot down there and is always cold so if it rains the roads might become icy which is not safe

Caitlan-greenpeace perspective

It's 1985 and I am on the boat rainbow warrior searching for the french who are trying out their nuclear bombs this bad because there testing it in Mururoa atoll which is very close Auckland harbour, but not only new Zealand is harmed by these bombings. Several pacific islands around that area are getting extremely sick from the radiation from the bombs.

A large noise shock us it's their nuclear bombs one has just hit us no the whole boat sinking and fast

LATER THAT YEAR

The two people who bombed us are now in jail and are sentenced to 10 years

2 YEARS LATER

No, I just heard that one of the people are pregnant so she just got out and the other one is apparently being sentenced in France like they will do that

I just want to watch the game of rugby why is that so hard for yous to understand come on it’s 1981 I would yell out the door and all I hear back is “ARRRRGGG” why they are people from hamilton street acorn street I like looking out my window but this time there was a whole lot fighting going on and they are fighting over a rugby match that won't play because there are some people out there that don't want this rugby match to happen but I don't why I think it will be a great match to watch but they disagree there were now over 150,000 people on the streets trying to stop the game cause the protesters really don't like the game there are now police there trying to stop the ginormous mob of people trying to get in and they are trying to stop the fighting TBC...

The reason why I look crazy is because it has been a crazy 😰 term because there was a whole lot going on e.g fighting
